BBC Children in Need – DIY SOS Big Build, Little Miracles, Peterborough
On behalf of Stewart Milne Group, I write to express our gratitude and thanks for the goods and services you provided, in support of the DIY SOS Big Build Project for the Little Miracles Charity in Peterborough, as part of this year's BBC Children in Need Appeal.
Your generosity and assistance has resulted in delivering an exceptional building that will change the lives of the children, families, friends and staff associated with the Little Miracles cause. The effort everyone has put in was simply amazing and to turn around such an impressive building in only 9 days, is quite staggering.
For our part, we are proud to have provided the concept and detailed designs, planning and building approvals and to have supplied and erected the timber frame superstructure. From start to finish, developing the design, securing planning, building consents and final completion certification took a little over 9 weeks. The actual Sigma II timber frame structure, fully insulated, air & weather tight, secure and structural complete took just 10 hours to erect, with very few hiccups.
Your assistance in achieving this is greatly appreciated. It clearly shows the advantages of working with our supply chain and consultants, in addition to your generosity, in supplying materials and services free of charge. The project would not have been successful without your input, which we thank you for and really appreciate.
The DIY SOS Big Build – Little Miracles special is the main lead in programme to this year's BBC Children in Need appeal. It will be shown on BBC1 on Wednesday 13TH November at 8:00pm. The BBC is hoping to secure £1m of donations, following the broadcast and prior to the Children in Need show on Friday 15th November. It is anticipated some of the DIY SOS Big Build elements will be shown throughout the Friday evening.
Once again, we really appreciate your contribution and assistance, in providing materials and services free of charge, whilst working with us to deliver an outstanding building we can all be proud off. However the real beneficiaries are the team at Little Miracles, whom now have a building that will change lives well into the future. Your contribution has played a major part in leaving this legacy.
